Caroline Meng (Alto)
Caroline Meng places the voice at the intersection of stage, recital and teaching. A mezzo-soprano, she first won first prizes in piano and chamber music before studying singing with Malcolm Walker and obtaining her DEM. In 2009, she made her debut in the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, under the direction of David Stern.
Her repertoire links baroque, romanticism and contemporary music. She notably sings Dido in Purcell’s opera, Ismene in Telemann’s Orpheus, Bellezza and Hero in Cavalli’s Egisto, as well as the Fox in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and Fyodor in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov. In concert, she has performed Méhul’s Mass under the direction of François-Xavier Roth and the Concert royal de la nuit with the Ensemble Correspondances led by Sébastien Daucé.
Her activity also includes accompanying singers as a répétiteur at the CRR de Paris and pedagogical work within the Sotto Voce children’s choir.
