Gunhild Lang-Alsvik (Soprano)
Gunhild Lang-Alsvik makes early music a starting point for a broader repertoire. Born in Trondheim, Norway, she began her training in her hometown before studying voice at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Barbro Marklund-Petersone and Håkan Hagegård. She earned a degree in vocal performance there in 2005.
Drawn to historically informed performance, she continued her studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, where she specialized in early music. Arriving in Switzerland in 2006, she established a lasting career there as a concert singer.
As a soloist in Europe, she sings a repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical to Romantic works, with forays into contemporary music. Her career has included collaborations with Collegium Vocale Gent, La Chapelle Rhénane and the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor, as well as with Jordi Savall; she has also performed at the Tonhalle Zürich. In 2018 she took on the direction of the Männerchor Kaisten-Laufenburg in Switzerland.
