Manuel Günther (Tenor)
Manuel Günther presents a tenor voice at ease in both opera and sacred repertoire. Trained at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, he then joined the International Studio of the Hamburg State Opera and later the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival. He made his debut there in 2012.
An important step in his career led him to the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich from the 2017–2018 season. His Mozart repertoire includes Tamino, Don Ottavio, Belmonte and Pedrillo. He also performs Count Almaviva in the Barber of Seville and the Major-Domo (Master of the Dance) in Ariadne auf Naxos.
Invited to Berlin, Dresden, Paris and Vienna, as well as to the Salzburg and Bregenz festivals, Manuel Günther performs in concert works by Bach, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn. His artistic path has also led him to work with Kirill Petrenko, Simone Young, Daniele Gatti and Kent Nagano. The diversity of these collaborations nourishes a practice in which the clarity of the vocal line serves both the theatrical character and the musical discourse.
