Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921)

Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921)

French composer, pianist and organist Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921) excelled both on stage and in the concert hall. He is notably the composer of Samson and Delilah, the Danse macabre and the Third Symphony with organ. In The Carnival of the Animals (1886), his imagination takes a delightful liberty: humor and orchestral finesse answer one another at every bar.
