Lions Club Jura-Léman steps into the heart of the orchestra with Virtual Hall®
Invited to an immersive symphonic listening experience, members of Lions Club Jura-Léman discovered another way to connect with music: through curiosity, sharing and emotion.
A first immersion, shared enthusiasm
Virtual Hall® was presented to Lions Club Jura-Léman by its creator, Pierluigi Christophe ORUNESU. A club member for eighteen years and a past president in 2015–2016 and again in 2022–2023, he accepted the current committee’s invitation to introduce this distinctive experience to his fellow Lions.
For many, it was their first encounter with a virtual-reality headset. The initial surprise soon gave way to the pleasure of listening: this immersive symphonic experience makes it possible to observe the orchestra in 360°, close to the musicians, and to perceive its collective energy in a different way. It is a graceful way of narrowing the distance between the auditorium, the stage and the people who bring music to life.
When technology becomes an invitation to listen
Conceived at the initiative of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and developed by Cybel’Art, Virtual Hall® is more than a technical achievement. Here, digital technology serves attentive listening: it invites us to look, listen and share the same cultural moment, without losing sight of what matters most—the emotion of music.
The enthusiastic reactions gave the presentation its full human dimension. Beyond discovering a headset, members shared the pleasure of listening differently and exchanging their impressions. It was an encounter that resonates with the spirit of Lions Club Jura-Léman: conviviality, openness and a desire to build connections.
Thank you, Lions Club Jura-Léman
Our thanks to Lions Club Jura-Léman and its committee for this invitation and for the quality of this shared moment. The concerts offered by Virtual Hall® can also be experienced on a computer, tablet or smartphone; to learn more about the club that hosted this encounter, visit its website.
Lions: more than a century of service to others
We Serve
Founded in Chicago in 1917 at the initiative of Melvin Jones, Lions International is the world’s largest service club organization. Its network brings together 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries and territories, united by a single motto: “We Serve.”
Lions clubs took root in Switzerland in 1948 with the creation of the first club in Geneva. Now together with Liechtenstein in Multi-District 102, Lions volunteer their time and skills for social, cultural and humanitarian projects. Their international foundation, LCIF, established in 1968, supports, among other causes, vision care, young people and disaster relief.
This philanthropic commitment echoes the spirit of Virtual Hall®: putting people at the centre, broadening access to culture and creating connections through music. This shared affinity of values gives full meaning to this encounter at Lions Club Jura-Léman.
